Help-Lost Cat

bubbaloo · 15/09/2006 13:57

We've been away since monday and got home about an hour ago to find that one of our cats hasen't been since since tuesday evening.
Our neighbour always comes in and feeds them both, letting them in and out,as and when.
I have left my details with the local vet and put notices in the newsagents, but wondered if anyone knew of ant websites where you can register missing pets, please.I know it's probably a long shot, but we're really worried about him as it's so out of character and our other cat looks rally lost without him.
TIA.

Make up some flyers and put them through all the neighbours doors.Ask them to check their sheds too.I got mine back this way

twocatsonthebed · 15/09/2006 14:03

Agree about the flyers - that's what worked for me too. And ring any local cats or dogs homes - and the local Cats Protection League too. I do hope he comes back to you.

WishICouldGiveUpWork · 15/09/2006 14:11

I agree with the others-flyers through doors and stuck to lamp posts/trees.
I would contact local cat shelters too in case some well meaning soul has taken him there...

bubbaloo · 15/09/2006 15:55

Thanks everyone.Seeing as there's no ink in my printer I've just hand written 30 flyers and asked Dh to post them through the letterboxes down our road.He was gone ages and came back with 20,saying it was only neccessary to post to every other house-looks like I'll have to pop out later and deliver the rest!

Just wish he'd hurray up and come back home-apparently my neighbour was walking up and down the street til 3am looking for him.

Don't give up yet though. Mine have been walkabout for 4 days before now. Also, I have posted a thread about finding my neighbors cat who had been missing for weeks & turned up when they went on holiday!

bubbaloo · 15/09/2006 18:40

That's very reassuring Milliways-let's hope Tigger does the same.

I've also just registered him as lost on Petsearch!

Lets hope so.Apparently the night he went missing we had a really bad thunderstorm here,so he may have gone off to shelter from the rain.Either that or he's living it up in someones elses house.

oh bubbaloo, I hope he comes back, thats the worst of cats when they disappear for spells, fingers crossed for you.

bubbaloo · 16/09/2006 19:13

Just to let you all know the good news-Tigger came back home about an hour ago.
Our neighbour knocked to say he was in the garden,so we flew out there and dragged him back in and he's been curled up on my lap for the last 30 mins.

bubbaloo · 16/09/2006 19:58

We're sooooo pleased-didn't think we'd see him again.
Have no more holidays booked for a while,so hopefully he won't dash off again.

justamum · 17/09/2006 00:28

yeaaahhh! i bet he's been partying!

twocatsonthebed · 17/09/2006 09:37

fantastic news - I'm really pleased for you and Tigger!

bubbaloo · 17/09/2006 13:15

Aww thanks everyone, but he's back in our bad books again.
He's just bought a live mouse in,which ran under the fridge.Poor Dh managed to pull the fridge out and found the mouse and captured it in a glass. On the way to the garden though, the mouse jumped out the glass and our lounge looks like it's been burgled as we've moved everything to find it.Dh was convinced it went in the fireplace so he removed all the coals and brass fixings at the front and just when I was about to give up,I saw it behind the tv,by the wires. He has now been caught again and safely put in the front garden( the cats are out the back!)-bloody cats,eh!!!

I think he was punishing you for going away.
My friend changed her cat's food from Whiskas to 'Honest Value Katkins', so he started catching his own supper. He left the mouse heads, neatly cut off just behind the ears right in the middle of the living room.
She gave in & switched back to Whiskas - no more severed heads!

bubbaloo · 17/09/2006 16:48

Oh dear, they are funny aren't they.Tigger's always catching mice, but he doesn't usually get any further than the patio as the door is normally shut, for that very reason. It's only happened once before and we got them both in,so they could catch it!

I bet he doesn't take mice into his other home, where he's obviously been living it up recently.
