Hi,
We live in Malta and crossing the road I have just found a nestling.
I though it was dead at first, one of it's wings is drooping and it was in the middle of a busy road with only a tiny pavement, no shade and lots of cats nearby. When I picked it up, it perked up a bit and stood up in the cardboard box I put it in at home. It seems to have collapsed again now, breathing but on little leg is splayed and it's eyes are shut. Should I try and feed it, It would be trodden on within minutes if I put it back. It has feathers. Please help wise wildlife knowers!

I have mashed up a little peach and put it beside the poor little thing, but he's not looking good. Maybe I should put him back on the pavement but in a box for at least a tiny bit of protection, then his parents could find him....

Have they collected him yet?

Yeah, the two most massive guys I have ever seen pulled up an hour ago and bundled him into an animal ambulance to take to the bird sanctuary. I have been really impressed although in the uk the spca used to turn up for every manky pigeon I found too.
I wonder if I could check on his progress? It might be straying into 'Bird Lady' territory but the dc's want an update....
