We got a dog for free........

and what can I say.......she is a wonderful border collie and is so perfect, she is great with household manners and what a nice personality she has she is also great with the kids and loves coming in the car with us to the stables. We love her and she has a great new home, it just shows you that you can get a great dog for free if you wait for it

We have a lurcher and she is great. I think it's fab to have dogs around children. My nieces are terrified of cats and dogs as my sister has no pets. My dd (6mths) gets so excited when our dog comes into the room. The dog has been fab around the baby too.
What have you called your new addition?

My brother has been trying to get a dog from Battersea Dogs Home - it's not easy. They have been there for two days so far and still not got a dog. Chose one, Battersea told them all the things wrong with it (ie not good with kids and jumps 6ft fences!) and talked them out of it. Chose another, ooops, sorry, someone already wants that one. He wants a pooch, not a pedigree so he's not being fussy but it's a difficult process it seems. He would love a cross-collie like my Nan used to have though. He will be of your new dog!

we got our cocker for free. got him from a family that decided they didnt want him anymore and shut him in the kitchen for 8 hours a day while they worked.hes a fantastic dog and im so glad we've given him a good home.

horsecrazy - Battersea called with the perfect dog for my DB - a border collie!! She is lovely, they've named her Jess. She has a nice nature, not yappy at all and very calm with my two children. I'm not a dog lover myself but I make an exception for her!
