Is My Cat Gay?

I have 4 cats - 3 males and a female. Elder male and the female have been 'done', 2 younger males are yet to be. One of the young males behaves rather strangely.

I know he is male, I have looked twice and after his odd behaviour started, I copped a quick feel just to be sure! .

He doesn't have the more round face of the male. He looks very female iyswim. I am sure most people will go 'It's a cat ffs!!' but they really do have a male or female look about them, and he looks female!!!!!

Also, he does that thing that females do when they are in heat. Very purry and vocal, lifting of tail, rubbing himself on the floor and the sofas etc, spraying, orming about! The other night he wrapped himself around my arm and I had a hell of a job to shake him loose. ? It?s not the aggressive ?lemee out, y?bitch, I?m horny? attitude of the unneutered male, it really is more ?do me now, big boy?.

Now is he gay or a hermaphrodite or something?

I have no problem with it - never let it be said I am intolerant of my pets' sexuality. I?m very liberal. I had a pair of gay rats, who lived in a cardboard condo in a 3-story cage, I strongly suspected my gerbils of being more than just good friends and I shall never forget the tormented love triangle that was my male netherland dwarf rabbit, my female mackerel tabby cat and my little ginger guinea pig.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has experience of something similar.

this is one of the funniest posts I have ever read!

DH used to have a dog that was very definitely gay and I don't believe it's unusual.

Have you got a DVD of Wizard of Oz for him to watch?

bubble99 · 12/08/2006 23:58

M2PW. Fantastic thread title.

Is he interested in your choice of curtains?

mytwopenceworth · 13/08/2006 00:14

ursula - you can only get him in the house by singing 'someWHERRRRRE over the rainbow.....'

he pisses on them, Bubble.

I had a gay cat. My ex h still has him and has done for 8 years.

We adopted him from a man who had AIDS and had become allergic to him.

Well, 'deMid' as we came to call Midnight, is a queen.

He's got more personality than any cat I've ever come across, tho.

Embrace the feline he is and enjoy!

buy him a copy of Kylie's album, or the scissor sisters... my gay cat particularly likes them..
