Grass Snake Eggs - know what they look like?

The cat brought in an egg last night, it was white, oval and about 2 inches long. She was rolling it around the floor and at first I thought it had came out of one of ds's games, but I took it outside and tapped it on the ground and found a yolk inside - I'm sure it was a grass snake egg???

it could have been a bird's egg?

I thought that, but it seemed too big and aren't birds' eggs more browny/speckled?

like this?

most snake eggs aren't as hard as bird eggs - they're kind of leathery. and grass snake eggs are about the size of quails eggs - not 2 inches.

I think it was a bird's egg (they're not all speckly. or at least, hens and ducks are birds and they don't have speckly eggs).

southeastastra, yes it did look like that, can't tell the scale from the pic tho.

SA, know what you mean about duck eggs, but it did seem to have a harder shell - maybe I will never know!
