Had them nearly a year. Stopped feeding them months ago. Seem to be doing well just on the green algae. Really want the thing off the window sill, dds want to see how long they will survive. How long?

The algae will be harbouring all kind of mini-things that they'll be eating. If you don't want them then offer them to someone with fish, my fish love eating them.

I was going to suggest you get a fish. But then you'll need a bigger fish.... :o

GlassCastle · 20/01/2014 12:07

Why would you actively want them to die? Seems a shame even though they are primitive creatures Sad

EauRouge · 20/01/2014 12:31

Well yes, I know I feed them to my fish but it does seem a bit odd to see how long it will take them to starve to death. At least being eaten is quick.

I don't think letting your kids watch creatures starve to death is the best lesson tbh. Why not give them to someone with a fish tank.

They live off of algea.
They are brine shrimp after all.
Not to mention they may be breeding.
