Hi we just got two guinea pigs! my dd is a big animal lover and adores them.

Boy times have changed though since i used to keep them. IF you read the literature we picked up in the shop you aren't allowed to lay newspaper down cos the print can poison them and you have to give them vitamins etc.

We quickly decided to forget the vitamins and ensure they eat veg and stuff to get all they need. The petshop advised us to feed them the guinea feed which is all nuggets rather than the mix you can buy which has various shaped piece in. This is because the mix ones, pets often pick out their favourite bits and therefore don't get all the nutrients they need.

They love dandelions so collect all your weeds in your garden for them!

can you give them grass cuttings from the mower?

no just pull up some grass for them, and wait until they are about 6 months (i think) before giving them any green stuff

Not from mower, but let them eat your grass and then you don't need to mow! .

OOps about the 6mths mark southeastastra, ours were 4 weeks when we got them! Didn't get told that.

well it was either 3 or 6 months thought i would hedge my bets
