we have a russian hamster its about 2 and half years old. it doesnt seem interested in his food but is eating, just not storing it away like he used to, and if i move his water bottle from its usual spot he wont find it and will gnaw at the bars where the bottle usually is. his fur is nice and dry, but he is getting smaller, and definatly more OAP-like in his stance. i think he may be blind. i just feel so sad when i see him, and think he'd be better off asleep.

Awful isnt it misdee?
When my gerbil was getting ancient I gave myself 3 days to get used to the idea and then took him tot he vets.
His mate died a week later of a broken heart it was bloody awful
Maybe give yourself the weekend to get used to the idea, say goodbye?
