If he's lost alot of blood perhaps he's abit lightheaded. Hopefully he'll recover take him to the vets if he doesn't improve

My sister had 2 rats, one died and the other one started eating it
Your rats might need to be separated, especially if one is quite weak, the other one might hurt it some more.

charliecat · 27/06/2006 20:23

It was one of my old ones attacking the new one. They seemed to be getting on fine then Grrr my old one had bit it
Have seperated them, they wont be near each other again.

Ok, I think, the injured rat head is swollen. Hes looking better, less concussed in the eyes. But is still staying sat down. Possibly becasue hes confused byt the wobbling on his feet. Hope hes ok tommorow

Are you taking him to a vet. Sounds like it could be infected?

charliecat · 27/06/2006 21:46

If hes not walking about as usual in the morning, yes straight to the vet.

Oh I hope so too. I have 3 rats and they are lovely pets, one died recently and I wanted to replace it but pet shop reckoned they would kill a baby. Just dont like the thought of there only being one left, think they should always have company. I hope your rat is okay though.

charliecat · 27/06/2006 21:56

I had my original 2 together and the new 3 together. The injured one is drinking water and sugar off a spoon. Has alos had some digestive biccys mixed with milk off a spoon. But is still unsteady. Looking better though.

NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 22:05

leave well alone should be ok...hopefully be right as rain tomorrow

ALTERNATIVELY

NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 22:06

Call out vet ( 100 pounds out of hours) and get antibiotics

charliecat · 27/06/2006 22:08

Ill go for the cheaper option and hopefully he will be better over night.
Is giving him water with sugar in it a good idea. Im thinking he lost a lot of blood and when you GIVE blood they give you tea...

OP posts:
charliecat · 27/06/2006 22:09

and he cant get to the water bottle because hes staying still and the sugar guarentees hes drinking it.

OP posts:
NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 22:11

lol
did he lose a lot?
he's probably faking it to get more digestives!
