We've adopted a 5/6 year old lab who is just delightful, loves the kids and is really well behaved.
She's only been here a day and three times the cat has hurt her, swiping at her legs and hissing.
I've thrown the cat out now but does this mean I'm going to have to have one in the house at night and one in during the day or can they be trusted together eventually ?

I have a cat and dog - neither belong to us but come in to visit and sleep - who are OK but do not like going through doors together. And if there is any bother the dog starts it and comes off worst.

hi i have 3 cats and a dog and it took about 2 weeks for them to get used to each other and they are fine now , i thought at the time they would never all get on,it was always the cats being horrible to the dog so hopefully theres light at the end of the tunnell yet for you !!!!good luck xx

we've had our puppy for 6 months and they still don't get on - he chases her (the cat) so I am completely unsurprised that she hisses and swipes at him. I think they could get on when he grows up a bit and leaves her alone.
