Cat nearly blew himself up!!

The cat has a bad habit of chewing wires. He's 2 approx and we have had him since November.
He's eaten through numerous cables (tv,laptops, iPhone etc) but on Saturday he chewed through the fan cable causing a Big Bang!
We've tried chew stop but he seems to like it .
Any ideas anyone? Thank you in advance

water pistol, any time he goes near a cable give him a wee soaking.

Is there any way you can stop him getting to the wires? Get some of that plastic tubing to go around the cable? You could try painting the cable with something else, mine hate citrus fruit.

I don't think water near half-chewed electric cables is the best idea.
You can get pretty thick cable sleeving - Fibreglass here - will be a pain in the neck for you to sort, though.
