Does anyone keep toads?

We have just found one in our garden, not a pond insight but I believe they don't need one. Do you think we should keep it in our garden or find somewhere else for it to live?

Think they like damp gardens so if your's is'nt then i would take it to a garden with a pond.

We get them in our garden, and sitting croaking on the front door step. There's not a pond in the street, and it's not particularly damp. I'd just leave it alone, it'll find it's way to somewhere suitably dank and drear.

He seems quite happy sitting amoungst our flowers at the moment. Whenever I go out there, it freezes. I'm quite happy for him to live in my garden and eat all the slugs!

Someone I know has had one living in their dog loo for about 8 years now. They dug out a huge whole for a dog loo, bucket with lid & holes at the bottom. Never used the thing and now this toad lives in it. Not a pond in site either. It will either move on of it's own accord or stay with you for years.
