Safe climbing plants for outside of aviary

Just to give some coverage to outside but likely to poke through bars so don't want to poison budgies and finches

A grape vine? Fruit and leaves both edible to humans (and I know the fruit is edible for birds because the sodding blackbirds get all mine and then grape-poo all over my patio). I would check on the leaves, I'm not sure on them.
