My cat and dog are both poorly

My cat seems to have got his lower tract infection back, he is peeing blood again. My dog is leaking blood from his back passage. They were both netured recently (cat done last wed, dog done on wed just gone) So we have an appointment at the vets at 10:45am. The dog seems so not himself.

Oh dear, that sounds horrible. How old are they SGK? I have two cats coming up to a year old and I partly got them because I grew up with cats and they were very maintenance free. So far, my cats have been too but I should prepare myslef if trips to the vet are going to become more frequent.

Hope they both get better soon.

Nemo (the cat) is 2.6 years, The dog is 8 months old. :(

Oh the dog doesn't sound too bad then, but poor old Nemo.

The vet said that it can cause a blockage and can kill a cat in 24 hours, atm he has a small bladder and no blockage, its inflammed, so hopefully we caught it in time again (he had the same problem in nov.)

Any reason given to you as to why Nemo has had 2 lower tract infections in 6 months? That surely isn't normal is it?

SparklyGothKat · 13/05/2006 21:24

The vet said that it can be caused by stress, and he thinks that being netured last week, stressed Nemo. It can be a recurrenting problem, but if we catch it in time, he only needs injections.
