Went to the cat Shelter today and saw a lovely little cat. She is 8 months old and so sweet. She is ready for rehoming from tomorrow. She is so sweet she will go immediately. You are not able to reserve cats at the Shelter.

The Shelter opens at 1:30pm and it is first come basis.

Going to get there early, but trying to decide how early. Would love her to come and live with us!

It is forecast snow tomorrow. Going to have to wrap me and DD up ready for our wait outside the door!!!

So fingers crossed we get there before anyone else!

What a shame they wouldn't let you have her today or let you reserve her. I guess lots of people reserve and then don't show up so they don't do it anymore Sad

Aww, good luck hula - hope you manage to get her! Smile

Never realised getting a cat could be so stressful! Feel all tense this evening. She was lovely. And they had so few cats, and very limited number ready for homing immediately. Must be a popular time. I am hoping that a snowy Monday afternoon might not be the most popular time for others to go, although I bet there were a few people interested from today.

Good luck Hulababy.

We had to get to the rescue centre early to get my mum's dog years ago as they didn't reserve puppies. It opened at 9am so we got there just before only no one else was there, despite there having been lots of interest in her and her brothers. As we were about to leave quite a few people started turning up.

I would love to get another couple of cats but I need to wait until our current puss is a bit older as he won't stand for it. He already teases our pup!

Well today's the day. What time to start queuing? Really hoping the fact that it is a cold (snow ong round), work day and just after lunch (1:30) opening will deter people from getting there too early.

Realised parking is not great and very limited at this time. So going to park in town (5-10 minute walk max) and walk down. Eevn though we don't normally use it will take DD's pushchair as can put carrier in it on way back to car. And will grab Dd a snadwich and drinka nd she can sit i n it whilst we wait.

OOOh good luck, hope you get the cat that you want.

We got a rescue cat nearly 15 years ago and he is the sweetest looking thing around, even if he is getting a bit grumpy in his old age!

I wouldn't arrive much more than 15mins early- I've just done the school run and it's freezing.

coppertop · 13/03/2006 16:36

How did it go? Did you get the cat you wanted?
