The chicken substitute plan continues...
Now looking at converting a 2 year old shed that's housed bikes into an aviary. Will buy panels to make the flight, have pop holes into the shed, an indoor flight space (prob 3x4') and the rest of the shed will be storage and a door for access to the flight area.
I've just seen an aviary in a petshop that sells budgies - they've got wood pellet cat litter as a floor covering. Would quails be ok on that? I can't see why not, it's only wood...
