current horse owners - question about saddles

I had horses when I was younger and when we sold them, I kept all their tack. It is sitting in my loft gathering dust, in the vain hope that one day I will be able to afford to get another horse. Dp thinks I am daft and that I should sell them. Thing is, they are at least 25 years old and I have absolutely no idea whether saddles are still the same now or whether they are now made out of polycarbon fibres or something. Is it worth keeping them for another 20 years? Would I even be able to sell them now and if so, what would they be worth and where would I sell them???

I always sold my saddles as they probably wouldn't fit another horse I bought.I sold them via a saddlers which 'did them up' fairly cheaply and then sold them on. cost depends on size, condition, make etc so no ideas of that.
My last one was a jefferies which sold for £350 4 years ago.

I did the same thing, i.e. kept all my tack for at least 25 years thinking I was going to use it again. Last year I ended up giving my saddle & 2 bridles to a friend who runs a livery yard. I also had to chuck stuf out that was clearly unsafe/rotten.

I had a look on ebay and there were saddles (like mine) for sale at about £20... I have put them back in my loft until I decide what to do with them. In another 25 years.
