How do I get kitten to eat, and have worm tablets too??!

She is five months old, I've had her a couple of weeks. She eats virtually nothing- a bit of dried biscuits and a nibble of cat food. I've tried all names of food, and she eats but a mouthful of all. She's very scrawny so I feel I need to fatten her up! I bought the worming powder and sprinkled it on her food/ bis, but she then won't touch it ( She hasn't got worms I don't think- just felt i should worm her). Any brain waves please?

what was she fed on before, I would try and feed her on that and then slowly change her food to the dried food.

I always give my cats worming tabs in a lump of cheese!!

they love it!

Get a tablet tool from your vet - cost about £1.50. They are like a syringe with a gripper for the tablet. We get our nasty old lady cat to eat her tablets really easily like this

Use tablets (with butter on) and wrap her up in a towel.

I had trouble with my two kittens too (and they eat loads - just not the worming stuff). In the end, they had a dose administered to them by the vet nurse when they went in for their little ops. Made me wonder why I had been struggling for so long. Could you take her to the vet and ask someone to perform their magic on her?

you can get worming stuff from vet that you put on back of neck like you do with frontline one of mine was really skinny and i got special food from vet to fatten her up only needed to give it her for couple of weeks then stuck her on iams with the odd tin of cheapo tuna for a treat

Thanks for all your advice. I need to take het to vets for injections, and to be spayed, so I could ask them to do it! I had the kitten from an old lady- a friend of a friend who i did not know, and no intructions on what she ate - i've tried every brand, even tuna etc, but she likes nothing more than a mouthful. I will try her with a bit of cheese later though.
