Hey everyone - my 6 month old female cat is booked in for a spay and microchip on monday. She has started urinating on my bed but NOT spraying so I assuming that this is a separate issue??

She has always used the litter tray but it she likes to sleep at the bottom of my bed in the day and it seems to me she is just being lazy peeing on my bed!!

I have been keeping my bedroom door closed and hope it
will stop. Is there anything else I should do (apart from clean my bed of course yuk!)

Urinary tract infection possibly. Might cat did this, they want soft things to pee on. Is she licking her bits and trying to urinate frequently?

my cat. Blush

I'm not a cat expert but do have a cat. I was told by an expert that cats rarely soil their own bedding or where they sleep. I had loads of trouble training my cat to use a litter tray when it was a kitten. But as soon as she was old enough to go out into the garden that's where she went. Don't know why she is using your bed. I'd keep her out of the bedroom for the time being.

Could you put a litter tray in the bedroom, to get her out of the habit?

Be warned though - I did similar when we had bad weather and the 2 cats refused to use the same litter tray (refused to be in same room) Only problem was, I put litter tray 2 in my room to encourage my cat to use it and the bloody kitten decided to use that too! Then when the weather cleared I removed the tray and the little shit darling carried on peeing in the corner. So, I created a rod for my own back!

May help you though as I'm sure peeing in a litter tray that is placed closer for her convenience will stop her peeing on your bed.

Yeah I did think infection but she doesnt seem to be showing any other symptoms other than she is seriously in heat on and off every 2 weeks. I am praying the spay will sort it but I do not think it is scenting - literally a massive puddle of wee like she has been holding it and holding it!! Like a dog pee???!!

Anyway...bedroom is staying shut. Little minx is desperate to mate, she keeps 'presenting' herself to my three year old and 'trilling' and howling.

Well, as sod's law would have it....

Came home from work to my house reeking of cat pee Angry

Long story short, it took the best part of an hour to get the carpet behind the TV clean and the Ginger Fiend is no longer on my Christmas card list Angry

Oh - then he was farting around behind the Sky box and pulled one of the leads out, one of the fiddly little leads. It is now hanging on by a thread and I will probably have to pay a fortune to get an engineer out to fix it.

Oh, Oh, Oh AND....newly decorated hall/stairs/landing - he's ripped the fucking wall paper, big rip..

I don't wish him any harm. I love him. I genuinely don't like him right now [sofuckingangry]

Holy SHIT - is the Ginger Fiend a BENGAL TIGER???

I thought I had it bad but you have got it much worse. [sympathy emoticon]

They pee everywhere when they are in heat.

My 2 year old cat all of a sudden started pooing on the living room carpet and weeing behind the tv and we couldn't work out why she was so reluctant to use litter tray anymore. Turns out she didn't like the cheap larger grained litter husband had bought. As soon as we bought the Catsan variety again there were no more problems!
