Keeping crickets under control but still alive

I am responsible for the welfare of a lizard. Someone has given me a box of crickets to feed it with but I have been warned not to keep the lid on the box or they will die. Obviously, I can punch holes in the lid but now big can they be before the crickets and jump out and run away? Is there any special contraption for this?

Dumb question, I know :)

You only need small holes in the box. Feed them on bran.

There is a contraption I've seen in Jollye's pet shop, and another pet shop. It's called Cricket Keeper I think. It has removable tubes so you don't have to catch and handle the crickets. Try googling it to get one online.
