I need to rehome my chinchilla :-(

Hi everyone,

I have a grey female, Cilla - who we think is about 11 years old, who I feel I need to rehome. I rescued her a year ago from a friend of a friend who didn't spend any time with her and she was very isolated. At first it was fine as my boys were at home and her cage lives in their playroom so she gots lots of attention and playtime. As the months have gone on my boys are at school so she's alone all day and I'm doing a degree (as well as working) so am spending all my spare time in the study. She's hardly getting any play time out of the cage now and i think that's cruel for her.

I feel so ashamed of myself, I've never rehomed a pet but I'm feeling constantly guilty and sad for Cilla who is such a lovely girl, she's happy to be picked up and held for short periods, and when she's out having a run is happy to run all over you, sometimes sits on my shoulders and tries to chew my hair! She's been happy with the noise my sons have made, isn't particularly timid.

I live in the East Riding/Yorkshire area, do you know anyone that could give her the home she deserves?

Contact these people and they'll be able to tell you someone more local rhydowenrodentrefuge.webs.com/ Or if you can get the chinchilla there then even better as they are an ace rescue.

Really sorry to hear your news but if Cilla is not getting the time she needs, then your making the right move. All the rescues that rehome Chinchillas can be found on Rescue Review.co.uk . Good luck with it!
