Homemade dog biscuits - anyone know a recipe

I want to make some dog biscuits as presents for friends and families dogs. I know you can do this at home but can't find a recipe. Does anyone know one, or should I be posting on the recipes thread!

My mum used to make these meaty ones for her dog.

1lb wholemeal flour
3oz melted lard
1/2 lb boiled liver
one stock cube
around 1/2 pint of water or milk
Two finely grated carrots

Finely chop the liver and mix with the flour and stock cube. Add the grated carrot (you can add grated cheese as well, if you like).

Mix to a dough with the liquid and lard, and roll out to 1/4" thick. Cut biscuit shapes with a small biscuit cutter, or with a knife. Put them on a baking sheet.

Bake at about 100C until crisp (takes about two hours).

Do you have to boil the liver or could you get away with frying it?

add a clove of garlic to that recipe of WWW's. (I do it without carrot) but OMG my two dogs do summersalts for it - reeks but they bloody love it. (I didn't bother cooking my liver, just blasted it in the blender)
