Sorry - bit morbid but if you run over a cat do you know you have??

I'm just needing to let off a bit of steam. My Mum has just told me that my 14 year old sister found her cat outside the house apparently choking. Rang Mum in tears and got her home from work. Without all the the really gory details she was basically crushed but lived another couple of hours

Makes me wonder though, do you feel it if you hit something small in a car or do some people just not stop???

My cat was also run over (not literally, I think more bumped into than under the wheels) and no, the person did not stop. I also once came across a cat in the middle of the road (still alive) and I DID stop and find its owner - but was completely mortified that they thought I had run it over....
DH once bumped into a rabbit and it was very obvious, so I suspect people just don't stop

zephyr. I remember when I was about 10 my mum ran over a cat. We never felt it, just happened to see it run under the car. We stopped immediately to see the cat running off into the bushes. We weren't able to find it but were pretty sure that its leg was broken . Never forgot that - we felt so guilty.
