ooh bugger, but my experience of cats (and we had them all the time when I was growing up) that they always come home.

A long time ago our cat needed to go to the vet as some sicko had poured fuel over him and set him alight. Unfortunatly he escaped before we could take him. He licked his wounds for a couple of days before he came home. Then we took him to the vet.

Is he very sick?

sparklymieow · 28/11/2005 09:35

He has a lower tract urine infection, he needs AB, and the emergancy vet gave him a painkiller jab yesterday to make him more comfortable, but he was very sleepy with it....

Its just that with our last cat Leeroy, he was very ill on a sunday evening, I put him in dd2's room overnight so I could take him to the vet the next day, somehow he got out and we never saw him again until 3 months later when we found his body in the garden So I get very worried when the cats disappear....

ah bless, poor old Leeroy.

Have you put some food and milk outside to tempt nemo?

sparklymieow · 28/11/2005 09:46

I have called him and searched the shed, where he sometimes sleeps, I think I will put some of the leftover chicken outside for Nemo, see if that brings him running.

Stupid thing is we locked the catflap and pull the door to, when we were putting the rubbish out but still he got out, he must have darted out when Dh took one of the bags out of the house, and while I was getting my coat on, you wait till I see him...

he knows you want to take him to the vet - put all thoughts of this out of your head and I'm sure he'll wander home.

Gem754 · 28/11/2005 20:32

He hasn't been gone very long for cat so please don't worry yourself too much (although I know it's hard). I suspect FB's right and he'll come home when he thinks you;ve forgotten about the vet. If he isn't home in a few days then put out some leaflets - but he'll proberly be home way before then.

Hope all turns out well, Gem.

sparklymieow · 28/11/2005 22:52

He still isn't home, very unlike him as he likes his food too much, I just hope that someone hasn't taken him in as it was cold overnight, because he really needs the vet, if he isn't home tomorrow I am going to phone the local paper and ask them to run an ad with a photo.

My son said Nemo came in this morning and used the litter tray, He said he tried to pick him up but he ran off. He isn't in now, but at least I know he is ok.
