puppy food

my mum makes her own food for her dog and my puppy, it consists of mince beef or tukey, wholemeal rice and grated carrot, sge recently read somewhere that dogs/puppies love oats.

Has anyone else heard of this?

I don't know about puppies, but there has been occasions where my mum ran out of dog food, and to compensate, she'll feed her dog table scraps and (porridge) oats. He's never turned his nose up at it.

I don't know what it would be like as a constant part of their diet.
