I have a selection of pets, whom i love dearly, but gosh they are expensive to keep! I give them the best of my budget but still, like all areas of my life, i like to get the best for my money. It seems that the obvious way to save some cash with multi pet owning is to find a substrate/bedding/floor covering that will suit as many animals as possible.

So heres my challenge: I need a material that will suit as many of the below as possible Smile

Rabbits
Piggies
Hamsters
Harvest Mice
Royal Python
Herman Tortoise
Degu

About to get:
Silkies (ideally but maybe other Bantam type chicken)
Quail

(also a cat and a dog but dont really need anything for them)

.......ready......steady......GO!

Lots of chicken keepers use aubiose. It is low dust hemp based and could work for your animals. It is actually a horse bedding.

Envy at all your pets!

Ive heard about that before, but from the pictures I've googled it looks sharp

( Blush and Im worried it will hurt my fluffies feet Blush )

But if it is low dust it could be good couldnt it....does it expand when wet do you know? thats one of the things i really wrry about with the smaller critters, wouldnt want anything expanding in their stomachs. The Degu, Rabbits and Piggies all eat their bedding atm you see...

I don't really know about small fluffies but it would do the trick for your birds. Our chickens like it.

Easibed or Aspen could be used to the chooks, Royal and small furries.

Hemcore would work for all I think, if you can find a supplier, ultra low dust (I use it for my rats) very good for odour, very soft. Is also a hourse bedding, I pay £9.30 for a bale.
