Moved in with my brother in jan this year while we get work done on our house, my 2 cats never hardly go out at all, but the eldest is my boy salem , we came back late last night after being out and he wanted to go out, so let him out and went to bed. normally i wait up till he comes back in again as they dont stay out at night and end up crying and waking me up in the middle of the night so to save the bother i just wait, last night i didnt.

the conversation had been in the night how protective i am of my cats (there are most definatly baby substitutes till i get the real thing!) so i thought ill show them and let him stay out all night if he wants, as soon as i got to bed i heard him scratching to get back i but ignored it. i wish now id taken the time to just get up and let him in cos so far he has gone missing. Ive literally looked around the block 6/7 times already, been outside on the doorstep shaking his foodand nothing.

He normally sits under my brothers car, he went out early this morning to take his friend to work and im sitting here with all paranoid thoughts what if he had climbed into the car engine, what if he's been knocked over etc.

I seriously do not know what to do, he went missing once in our old house (where hes lived since we got him) but he was back by 3 the next day absolutely starving! i really hope it happens again but cos its a new area im really upset that hes gone for good this time. Ive had him since i was 17, im now 31 and i desperatly want my little mate back, so any advice what i can do is greatly appreciated, thanks you for taking the time to read this x

Has he gone "home"? Is there anyone still where you used to live that could look out for him?

More likely someone has taken him in. We lost one of our cats when new neighbours moved in and started feeding her then claimed her as theirs. You could try putting Lost signs up on lamp-posts near your house. Also you could ring the local vets and Rescue Centres and see if anyone has handed him in as a "stray".

I hope he comes back. Good luck.

Im doin the posters as we speak, i doubt he could have gone home as its about half an hour away and hes never been outside of this close we in at the moment,im worried sick i was up at 3am searching for him then again at half 6,but nothing. there is a local pdsa not far and im going to ring them in a bit, he has his collar on but i found his name tag in the garden so hes totally alone, i really cannot cope with this! xx
