my cats driving me mad!!!!

I have a cat called lucy and she is constantly clawing my sofa! i have tried scratch posts and she is not in the slightest bit interested, and i cant shut her out of the room because its our main room she has to go through it otherwise she would be permanently living in our kitchen which would not be fair to her. Any suggestions?

cats love wicker for scratching, can you stick a little wicker basket in the corner and plonk her on it each time you catch her scratching? It has saved our pine dining furniture

or failing that keep a water pistol in the room and give her a quick squirt whenever she takes to your sofa

unfortunately the crafty little madam has cottoned on to the fact we don't like it and she waits till we are in bed.
I will lie there hearing my sofa being ripped.
And wen i go down to stop her she looks at me with big eyes (@@) and then legs it lol!

put a throw over the sofa whne you go to bed
