Think our budgie is dying

Does anyone have any knowledge on budgies? We got him April last year, he wasn't a young bird then but the owners were not sure how old he was, we got him a mate and they have been very happy together for 8 months.

However this afternoon he is wandering around the bottom of the cage, (they are not really tame and normally they wont let me touch them but today Georgie will!

He is now head down tail up in the feed bowl, (they don't use the bottom ones) I have tried giving him water from a spoon and some seed but don't know what else to do! :(

I think if they're at the bottom of the cage it's not a good sign. Try to make sure he is warm tonight.
take him to the vet if he's still with you tomorrow

Thank you Corns12k, Astonishingly Georgie is still with us, I'm so pleased! After an hour or so of being the way he was, he was back up on the top perch tweeting away!
I googled for some answers and one came up that although rare they sometimes have a sleep on the bottom of the cage and are almost comatose, which I think (unless he has come round very quickly from a stroke or heart attack) is what may have happened, When we got up this morning he was fine and has been all day, playing with his lady friend and eating and drinking fine!
