How do I change the details on my dogs microchip.... if I can!?!?

Just had a scary 10 minutes of looking for our dog because somebody left the gate open

Anyway, the people that found him rang Petplan (he had a Petplan disc on his collar) to get his details, but I think they were our pet insurance company, and we're no longer with them.

However, he is also microchipped. But since we got him 'done' we've moved house, so the details are no longer up to date. Our mobile numbers are the same though.

Can we change the details on the microchip? I've no idea how it works . Any ideas who we contact? Should we have been paying a subscription to somebody?

Thanks

Mine cost £5 to update my info (for the cat)

I don't think there is a subscription - just an amendment fee

I just phoned up

Who did you phone? I know I must have the paperwork somewhere, but can't think where. Is it one big organisation? His collar tag saying that he is chipped is red if that means anything, but I can't make out the company name. It's something like Rid?XXXX? Datamaster.

I should just ring the rescue home we got him from. Should have thought of that earlier

Try your vet. Our cat was done at the vets. They should have details of who they update their database with.

The rescue centre we got him from gave us a number to contact. Details now updated

My DH was amazed when I logged onto MN to ask this question. Somebody knows everything on here

ring a vets they have a number you can ring, they should give you an address because you need to change it in writing and i believe it is £5.
