WOW, After 10 years, I got what I wanted

I have had my cat for 10 years from being a kitten and she has NEVER sat on my knee, unless you count the time she had anaesthetic and sat on my knee for about a minute.

BUT, for some reason today, whilst she was sat at the side of me, I decided to pick her up, and she instantly started padding, then, she actually laid down and went to sleep on my knee for 1/2 hour, whilst she was laid on my knee I hardly dare move or breathe, though I don't know whether it is a bad thing, with her age, or a good thing that she finally decided to reward 10 years of love and attention with a cuddle, i just hope she decides to give me more cuddles.

aww thats great my cat is 10 she loves sitting on my knee,but wll not sit with dh we have been together 7 years cats can be really fussy!!

My youngest cat, he is 18months, is laid down down before he even hits my knee lol, and he likes laying on his back and having his belly tickled lol

years ago i had 2 cats brother & sister they where so funny to watch when they were playing together.they both liked cuddles & used to sit on my knee i love cats & dogs they give you so much love.i also have a little westie she is great! very good with my son

Aw, cute! One of our cats sits on laps but if he's on my lap and then spots dh, he abandons me for an apparently superior lap!

There was something in the paper today about non-lap-sitting cats, saying that they need to be socialised to sit on laps by the age of eight weeks. Also, that lap-sitting (or not) tends to be the same as the parent cat ie if mum is a sook then the kittens are likely to be cuddly too.
