This is sad - dead cat left on grass verge

I am not sure where to post this - on Friday I saw a dead cat on a grass verge outside someone's house, just passed the house again and the body is still there.

I knocked on 3 doors to let them know but nobody answered. I assumed the householders would see the cat and bury it/try and find out who owned it. Can anybody advise me? I was thinking of looking in the local shop to see if there was a notice.

Phone the council. They will remove the cat and scan it to see if it is chipped, if not they will make note of it's description.

I always phone the council if my cat is missing. Just incase

I hope they don't take much longer, lady on phone said it would be dealt with shortly.
