we have got 2 goldfish (which i havent managed to kill yet lol) and today have bought a INTERPET internal power filter...

the instructions are rubbish, and i havent got a clue, so could do with some help please

i have put the filter in the tank, but i dont know if the filter is supposed to be totally in the water? or is the spout supposed to be on the top of the water?

dont wanna kill my fish, when i have managed to keep them alive for 6 mth lol.

also, one of the goldfish, i have just noticed while cleaning the tank, has a red spot on its head, looks like a blood blister/ulcer...any ideas?

TIA xxx

I have one!
You need to put the filter in the water with the spout JUST under the surface (the top of the spout can just break the water) and the air inlet bobble on the top free of the water.
If the spout is too much under the water it doesnt' work as well.

One of your goldfish may have a bit of fungus/infection. I'd bung in a bit of the antibacterial/fungal liquid you can buy and see if it improves./

lilsmum - just had word with dh who keeps fish, says you fish has an ulcer, you need to get some antibacteral formula then ask the pet shop about filter aid to get the bacteria into your filter this will help the filter do its job better, change your water regularlly adding water softner if you live in a hard water area or an area where chemicals/floride is added to the drinking water...hth...

MN...thanks for that, poor fish

will the antibac work then? is it my fault?
