Shocking isn't it? Sad

They are owned by Proctor and Gamble, so no surprise really.

BigOfNoorks · 22/09/2010 16:27

It seems even more disgusting to me to do this and then sell pet food. I haven't bought any food and I certainly wont now.

I know, I know Sad.

Years ago I used to feed mine on Eukanuba, but stopped on discovering it was made by P&G.

I boycott all their products now.

PaulineCampbellJones · 22/09/2010 19:59

Am not buying that anymore! What should I get for my cat instead?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 22/09/2010 20:12

Could I interest you in Fish4Cats? instead.

Is both ethical and scrumptious and crap free to boot.

Nothing to do with me, but I am always plugging it as I think it is great food.

BigOfNoorks · 22/09/2010 21:00

Wherethewildthingswere I am shocked about Eukanuba do you happen to know of any humane healthy dog food I use hills science plan, I am unsure of ethical back round though and would like to know if you could please.

PaulineCampbellJones · 22/09/2010 21:50

Thanks will give that a try!

Vallhala · 22/09/2010 21:51

I have been aware of Iams' practices for some time now and will gladly join the campaign.

Fish4Dogs is great, btw, but damn expensive when you have 3 large ones!

My vote goes to Naturediet for crap-free-ness. :)

BigOfNoorks · 23/09/2010 09:06

Thanks Vallhala I will look it up considering my dog would wolf that in no time at all.

Val Rudy won't touch Nature Diet, he is a fussy buggerGrin.

I am surprised you found it worked out cheaper, I found it one of the most expensive things to feed. F4D works out at less than half the price for me.

Vallhala · 23/09/2010 11:01

Sorry, I should have clarified - I get ND at cost price.

I know all about fussy buggers, I have Max the Lab x!

Vallhala · 23/09/2010 11:03

PS I don't get Naturediet at cost from the manufacturer and have nothing to gain by recommending it. I get it from the rescue I help out at and which Fish (my champagne GSD, not a haddock) came from.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 23/09/2010 11:06

Ah, that explains it!

I was really surprised that Rudy wouldn't eat it tbh, they reccomend it for fussy dogs.

He is a law unto himself, will sell his soul for a bit of Beef Butchers ChoiceHmmGrin.

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/09/2010 11:08

Damn, my cats eat Iams exclusively.
Is F4C the same price?
Off to investigate.

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/09/2010 11:10

More expensive of course.
Sad

midori1999 · 23/09/2010 18:02

I wouldn't use Iams as I consider it crap dog food.

The 'campaign' against Iams is led largely by PETA linked with 'Uncaged') who are a bunch of loons and cannot be trusted IMO and they were not interested in Iams until Procter and Gamble took the company over.

That's not to sahe cmpany don't animal test, but the footage available on the internet is very, very old and P&G do claim to have since changed their practices.

I certaily wouldn't wanbt a dog food that hadn't been tested on animals, although obviously those tests should be humane.
