in the house of big, eff-off hairy-legged, steel toed, hairy arachnids?

Have:-

  1. Dog who will eat them
  2. Electronic thingy meant to give off spider abuse
  3. Liberally sprinkled conkers that aforementioned dog keeps eating.

Have I missed any deterrents?

You need a cat. Drogba the killer kit has been known to leap several feet into the air from a sitting position to get a moth. It's very amusing!

She who is small, sleek, black, dainty and butter-wouldn't-melt looking chases and eats spiders whilst my big ginger boy looks on with dopey unenthusiatic approval.

Or you could ask me to move in. I have no fear of spiders and happily pick them up to put out of the nearest window.

Don't ask me to have a blood test or get on a boat though... Shock

How about one of those plunger thingies so you can remove the spiders without touching them?

ewwwwww hate spiders- my garden seems to have been over taken by them, and they are starting to come into the house. am desperately trying to stay calm and not run and shreik when I see them as I have spent all summer persuading dd that bugs are not going to hurt her!

Conkers - fill your house with them. Not sure if it is really true, but unlikely to harm... allegedly spiders don't like them Confused

oh Val, forgot to mention, have spider hoover too - only if DP is away, DD(9) has to do it!
