Toddler and dog -when does it get easier

hello, when can i relax about DD and dog - what age? do i need constant supervision till then? i have been so anxious even though dog is v gentle, but is big (my dog bit me when i was 12 after years of being fine - he was put to sleep)

I don't think there is a magic age as such, it really depends on the child and how well they can follow instructions. I think younger children always need supervision with dogs.

You've got a long way to go yet if your dd is a toddler, sorry. I think we supervised till probably about 5 years old iirc.

Agree around the age of 5/6 but very much dependent on the child and the dog in question.

i still have to remind my almost 8yr old on how to behave around the dogs. she likes to crawl around with them Hmm she does have AS traits and is very impulsive.
