Instructions said not to put on washing machine or more than 30C, but I can't imagine what will remove cat pee from it!
Any ideas anyone???

tbh would really try and sponge it off as much as poss asap (cat wee doesn't half stink)

charleypops · 26/08/2005 20:13

Oops! at least it wasn't a dirty protest!

I think you should get it in the machine asap with lots of washing powder (biological would be better I imagine) I'm sure it will be fine. At least you can wash it, the covers on mine aren't removable

Thanks guys! I am so pissed (excuse`the pun), DS has almost outgrown it, and I was going to give to some friend of mine next month.. Now I feel I should throw away! So wasteful, haven't used for 3 months yet!

use NAPISAN.... that will kill all the germs even at a low temp!

Mytwopenceworth · 26/08/2005 22:53

Cat pee smell just seems to come back and back and back no matter how many times you wash it! Months later you can be getting a whiff of it! I find that half a bottle of fabreeze helps!

I would risk washing machine but on anything that can't go in machine - like carpet for instance I spray on a mix of water & bio washing powder, let it dry and then sray on some water with a bit of surgical spirit in it. The combination gets the smell out even to the point where the cat can't smell it so doesn't think it's a regular scenting place & do it again iyswim.

good luck

Thanks for all your suggestions. I was desperate and just washed the thing at hight temp with oxiclean (didn't have many products at home...) and seem to have done the trick. I think I was lucky to see as it happened so was very fresh ...

alibubbles are you looking for a cat(s)???
I love my pets, but I have to confess that I have no time for them, so they are very neglected these days. i see them as a chore these days and do think they need a better home, that would give them more love. feel very ashamed to say that, but it is the truth
