And we go on holiday in 10, yes 10 days time. What am i going to do? I have two lovely but needy special dogs who need looking after. I would prefer a house sitter to loook after the other critters although i do have a friend who will do that for me (she can't look after woofa's overnight) ARGHHHH.

I am in suffolk but close to Essex, Cambridgeshire and NOrfolk. What to do Confused.

We have just returned from holiday and used Guardians provided by the Home Service Ltd. They were very good, but do not know if they can help you at such short notice. They charged £350 for the week, but the actual housesitters did not get paid anything like this amount.

This has just happened to me too! We go on Saturday and need someone for our 2 cats in London...

Anyway, have a look at Gumtree - I've found a couple of people who will do it for free, if they can stay in your house...not sure if ew're going to do it yet but I think needs must...good luck!

Ask other local dog owners?

For cats, I just normally have a neighbour cover.

morethanyoubargainfor · 09/08/2010 19:26

thats the down side of being unsociable NQC I don't know anybody else!

Your retreiver looks beautiful,I know a couple of people who have used the labrador lady and been pleased but have no personal experience. She may be able to recommend sonmeone though .

Have you tried BarkingMad? I would have used them if sill hadn't taken care of my pup.

morethanyoubargainfor · 11/08/2010 08:01

the thing i don't llike about barking mad is you dont get to meet the family the dogs are staying with. They are collected from you and delievered to them, apprently it saves alot of time Hmm. i think they are worried about people going to sitters directly.

I know somebody who works for barking mad and they only get paid £5 per day Shock.

Wish I could help I am in Suffolk from 16-21st August but with my five dogs would not be able to transport another 2Sad.

I would not touch barking mad.

frostyfingers · 11/08/2010 09:06

I was a barking mad sitter for a while and it was fine. We didn't meet the owners which wasn't an issue, although if it were me using them then I would prefer to.

I think it depends on your local group really as it's a franchise. The chap running it in our area was very particular and we always had lovely dogs, and several repeat guests.

And you certainly don't do it for the money.....is it still only £5, blimey!

Ask at the Vets or local pet shop to see if they know anyone.

Alouiseg · 11/08/2010 15:39

Oh I didn't know that Shock.

morethanyoubargainfor · 11/08/2010 17:52

hello,

Thanks everrybody. I have now booked them into a 'doggy hotel' near cambridge. It is not my favoured choice but it is better than them being left home alone! That they wouldn't like.

Thanks Minimu thanks for offer but i understand that 7 beasties would be quite alot!
