eye drops in 9wk old kittens

Hi

My 9wk old kitties have both got an eye infection Sad

But tbh its really difficult to put the drops in and they squeeze their eyes tightly shut so not sure how much actually goes in iyswim.

Also lots of crying & squirming etc (to be expected obv. Grin)

Am I best to just do it as quick as poss and does anyone have any fool proff tips??

TIA Smile

Wrap them in a towel fairly snugly to keep the little feet and claws out of the way. Personally I find it easier to actually face the kitten/cat away from me and lift the head up with one hand - probably easiest to kneel on the floor and tuck the body in between your legs to keep that in one place. Gently part the eyelids with one hand whilst holding the head and put the drops in. Their eyes will be quite small so some is likely to be blinked out - so long as the eye was open when you put it in then fine.
