Cat suddenly clingy - any idea why?

Hi there,

Not posted on here before, but just got a quick question and wondered if anyone could help?

We've got a very independent, feisty 2 yr old tabby who normally loves to be out & about, but recently (the last week) she has become extremely clingy, following us around everywhere, wanting to sit on everyone's laps, etc. She hardly goes out anymore. Nothing has changed in the house so I'm just wondering what may have caused this as it's so out of character.

Is she spayed?

Have you been rubbing her vigorously up and down your jumper?

Yes, she was spayed when she was 6 months old.

Are you pregnant?

Thanks for your help but we've worked out why - there's a fox nesting in our garden. Now we just need to get rid of that.
