any huskie owners out there for advice??

my huskie last came into heat 8 months ago,i thought it was every 6 months??she hasnt been anywhere near dogs so shes not pregnant.shes 16 months old and had her first season in nov last year and nothing since,any advice welcome.

If you aren't planning on breeding her, it's be best to have her spayed anyway.

Huskies can be erratic
every 12 mths or less is usual
my friend has a pack of huskies she uses for training and all the females are erratic...

6 months is an average, it varies from bitch to bitch. If she hasn't had a second season by 2 years old, it is probably worth mentioning it to your vet just in case there is an underlying problem or she is having silent seasons.

As sais before, all bitches can vary, even in the same breed. I have had some girls come into season every 6 months or so and some longer between seasons. One spaniel only came into season about every 10 months and she still had 2 lovely litters.

If she does not come into season by 2 years I agree with the previuos post and you should get her checked .
