Cat driving us mad!

We have a 7 yr old female tabby which was a rescue cat- we've had her for 5 yrs.
She's quite timid- doesn't like strangers, but quite happy with us.
Now you know how cats do that really annoying weaving in and out of your legs, especially when going down stairs- this has got really bad.(and dangerous!)
When she comes in the house in the morning (through window- she has a catflap but only to go out- she's not allowed in through it due to mice etc)- she won't go straight to her food, but wants us to go in the room first. It's almost as if wants permission.
This has only started recently and is becoming so annoying.

Have you changed the routine in the house lately? Tabby is probably feeling very insecure. A few minutes of special tabby-only play time and attention each day should do the trick. Set the routine, so directly after dinner each day she gets the cuddle or catnip mouse, and you might find it sorts itself out.
