My dog does this as well and its sends him crazy.
I am sure he thinks it will fly up his bottom as he also drags his bottom along the floor when there is one around.
He just can,t relax when there is one buzzing around and he chases it and snaps at it very amusing to watch.

My dog does this too. He always misses! If i swat one and it lands on the floor, he eats it!

he is so funny, but flies have to be alive to eat

he ignores dead ones on the floor

obv likes his meat fresh

Have you tried him with bubbles? My 14mth ridgeback is currently racing round trying to catch bubbles blown by my 2yr old - who is laughing her head off!!

My staffy does this too! Actually anything that moves, spiders, moths, bees etc. On occasions he does catch them and then squish them under his paws before eating them.

Ds' favourite pastime at the moment is blowing bubbles for him to catch. Our Labradoodle isn't bothered in the slightest.

Will try bubbles next week

Think I might invest in a bubble machine. May cut down one walk a day
