There is no point introducing a ‘ban’ unless it is actually enforceable. Proponents need to explain credibility how this would work in practice. Until then, a ‘ban’ would be little more than government virtue-signalling.

I agree that it may be difficult to enforce but I think there should be a discussion in parliament around it. This is what the petition is for.

So should we legalise drugs, alcohol and smoking?

I think it's a start. It would make it easier to parents to say no and not fall foul of the "everyone else is on social media aged 9, why can't I?".

I also think that more kids would be smoking, drinking and taking drugs if there was no ban.
People will work around a ban, but it will be just a step harder.
