Protect Our Children: Mandatory Annual Psychological Assessments for Childcare

OP posts:
GasperyJacquesRoberts · 04/12/2025 22:04

Should we do the same for parents?

BobblyBobbleHat · 04/12/2025 22:08

Odd idea.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the lack of appropriate funding for SEND children and the push to include as many as possible in mainstream education, even when that is not in the best interests of the child.

Zonder · 04/12/2025 22:10

Madness. Who would assess? How would it be paid for? And as pp said will parents be assessed too?

Screamingabdabz · 04/12/2025 22:15

Totally unworkable, intrusive and utterly pointless.

Mayflower282 · 04/12/2025 22:29

This is ridiculous.

Yes. This needs to be the #1 priority in education.

RollOnSunshine · 05/12/2025 09:21

Who do you propose pays for this OP?

That's a very interesting perspective on "parents (mums)" and of course not true.

I bet that is absolutely not the case in any way whatsoever. Have you tried getting mental health support on the NHS?

Children are at far, far greater risk from physical/sexual/emotional abuse from their parents and immediate family than they are from childcare workers. Ask a social worker about the situations they deal with day in, day out.

PollyBell · 05/12/2025 09:32

I would more beneficial for ttc or for new partners of parents who have children already looking for a replacement
