Please write to your MPs about this. The only way that nurseries can stay sustainable is to pass this cost on to parents. This percentage difference has happened every year for 20 years meaning that the funding rate is now hideously behind. It should be almost double. This will only change if parents campaign as there are more of you! The government offering 'free childcare' is basically making nurseries run at a loss on the amount that they are paying.

It’s not just nurseries but all early years settings which includes preschools and childminders. Also, the rates of what settings are paid fluctuates across the country, the different rates between areas are alarming, and the local authority creams off the top before even paying the provider!
