Parent and child parking restrictions

Hi, I recently found out there are groups of people targeting the parent and child parking bays who haven't got children, just because it isn't illegal. With no regard to keeping our kids safe. This has to change so please sign this petition

The Government should require a minimum number of parent and child space available per 100 spaces in retail destinations that require a government issued badge to use to help with enforcement.

Can I ask who would be responsible for policing this? And how it would work practically? Would parents be issued with a badge similar to a blue badge?

Targeting them how? By parking in them? Surely that's not a new thing!

So the idea is that you have a badge, similar to a disability blue badge so you can park in a parent and child space? What's the age cut off for that? Who pays for the additional admin etc?

Heh yes I think it's gathered 132 signatures since it was created which I believe was 1st February (going by the 6 months finishing in 1st July).

There are many reasons why someone may need a convenient and/larger space other than children including (in our case) the carers have the disabled badge, again!

You can't always see disability plus you can't get a blue badge for temporary disability which may require a large parking space.
