Watched the programme last night about the under-representation of BAME children in history curriculum despite a long and varied history in the UK, and the damage that under-representation does and it was really eye opening. My kids are mixed race and it has never occurred to me how Black History month is simply not enough or even worse, damaging…because it should be fully integrated, not a special time - as it’s that “special time” that continues to separate whereas full integration would just be…normal.
