My son, Noah Donohoe was an intelligent smart gentle boy. He was 14 years old and he was my only child and my everything.

On 21st June 2020, a bright sunny day, Noah set off on his bike to meet up with his 2 friends but never reached his destination. Instead, Noah was found 6 days later in a storm-drain, naked, in a part of Belfast he did not know.

On the day Noah was found, before Noah was formally identified, the Police did a media release stating that there was ‘No Foul Play’ involved. I ask, if the police are so sure that ‘No Foul Play’ was involved, why are the police now trying to stop me, as Noah’s mummy, getting four files of information on Noah’s investigation?

The Police have applied for a ‘Public Interest Immunity’ certificate, which, if granted, means they can hide four key files in the investigation. Such a certificate is only used in exceptional circumstances and rarely used in the case of a missing child. This certificate has been brought into play in cases where Police intelligence, informers or paramilitaries are involved.

I as Noah’s mummy have, from the very start of Noah being missing, believed that the police did not use all their resources in finding Noah. This was confirmed when it emerged they had not paid anyone overtime while investigating his death. They did little, if any, forensics and any suspects that were brought to their attention were dismissed as not relevant.

I believe that someone harmed my Noah and that there have been serious and repeated failings in the Police investigation of his death. I will never get Justice for Noah if I do not get all the information. These four files are vital for us to get the truth we desperately need, to find out what really happened to my precious son.

I am asking you as the public, some of you as parents, to sign this petition so that Noah gets the justice he truly deserves and to place transparency and accountability where it should rightly be.

Very good , positive news on the petition !

I’ve heard from Michael at MNHQ , and screenshotted all the E mails, but I won’t post them here for fear of anything happening to this thread.

Basically he’ll pass on my request for this thread to be pinned, and the office will discuss it, also as there are several Noah threads he thinks we’re getting a fair bit of publicity across the various boards.

I’ve thanked him ( and mentioned the algorithms issue ) and asked that I / we are updated when MNHQ office have made a decision .

It's taking a lot of work across the board by a lot of posters to get the attention this mother needs and deserves. With the algorithms making it an uphill struggle on this thread now and on the AIBU thread, much of that work is unnecessary, frustrating and unhelpful to supporting this mother. Pinning something like this petition thread - or I, or another regular poster, could make one especially, or Mumsnet HQ could - would make all the difference.

Come on, Mumsnet HQ, stop making this so hard, please get behind your Mumsnetters and this mother.

I don't know, ReiltinDubh, but what I do know is that it's all an unwelcome distraction for us all, isn't it?!

It's almost a way of derailing the thread, with us having to discuss this, instead of why we're all really here: Fiona and Noah.

It must be off-putting to potential new posters clicking on the thread too, to see the thread having to be filled up with bumps and our consternation at the algorithms set.

My only hope is that Mumsnet HQ step up.

Or we'll just have to start another thread every time the unfair algorithms kick in.💙

I've already had a response from mnhq, v similar to @Yiayoula 's
I've replied asking for clarity around active so hopefully will get a response on that.
It would be a shame to have to keep starting new threads as could be difficult for posters to keep track of 😔

Just signed the petition. The thread was on active when I went off to sign. By the time I came back (5 minutes at most) it had gone. It took me a way too long to find it. Classifieds was way down the list of sensible places to look for the petitions section.
