I remember reading about this when it happened. Absolutely horrific. The bastard’s behaviour afterwards defies belief. He’s even got a smile in his mugshot (assume that’s what the picture in the newspaper article is from).

He’ll be out in less than 6 years. Previous convictions for drunk driving too! He could be back driving in his 60’s. Absolute scum.

My best friend’s sister was killed by a drunk driver when she was just 17. He got 18 months, just 18 bloody months for choosing to drive when he knew he was over the limit and taking an innocent young life, leaving her family grieving forever.
Really hope the petition makes a difference.

Notimeforaname · 20/04/2021 23:57

Signed. Thanks for spreading the word op!

I do not understand that sentencing - 10 years for killing three people and an animal - why are there not consecutive sentences for each (please don't tell me 10 years is consecutive, I might implode). That poor, poor woman. No words Flowers

Longdistance · 21/04/2021 00:03

I’ve signed and shared on FB.

I'm sorry to say that people who drive drunk so often don't accept just how serious it is, and even if they do kill or harm someone, still insist that it wasn't so terrible because it was an accident. Maybe stiffer sentences would communicate better just what a horrendous thing it is.

The driver is a compulsive liar. He's done this repeatedly and wheeled out an excuse of PTSD.

He did go into the army but never actually served. He didn't get past basic training, the medals and outfit he wears he bought online.

Excuse after excuse made for him and he's coasted through life losing his license then getting it back and this time he's caused utter devastation. They'll take time off served in remand too, he's probably going to be out after 4 years on the vulnerable prisoners wing. That is no justice. I mean he could have served a thousand years and it wouldn't have brought any comfort to those who have had their family torn away but that sentence is just cruel.
